FORT HALL — The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes’ new Fish and Wildlife Building is now open, providing expanded space and improved functionality for their programs.
The Big Game Department announced its move into the new facility on August 25 on Facebook. The department invited tribal big game hunters to visit the new location to purchase and pick up hunting tags. The new building is located on Shoshone Drive, east of the Tribes’ old Fish & Wildlife building.
The facility will house administrative offices for the Fish and Wildlife programs, wildlife biologists, and the hatchery program. It includes a reception area, a conference room, a breakroom, IT room, mechanical room, garage and a shop area with an adjoining mudroom.

“This facility gives our staff the space and organization they need to operate successfully and efficiently,” said Lytle Denny, Deputy Executive Director of the Natural Resources Division. “Having the right facilities in place strengthens their day-to-day operations and ultimately supports the important work they do to protect and manage our natural resources.”
The added capacity supports ongoing wildlife protection, research, mitigation, and resource management work across the Fort Hall Reservation.

Construction began on August 4, 2025. Steel Design of Idaho Falls, Idaho, was selected as the contractor. The project cost approximately $1.26 million and was funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
A grand opening celebration will be announced at a later date.
