Shoshone-Bannock tribal artists & horse riders participate in Blackfoot Ranch Rodeo

BLACKFOOT — Shoshone-Bannock artists displayed their work during the Blackfoot Ranch Rodeo June 26-27 at the Eastern Idaho State Fairgrounds.

Dillin Diggie had quillwork; Bailey Dann was making parfleche; Marietta Cortez was working with willows and Bobette Haskett Wildcat had basketry on display including a salmon skin basket, while doing weaving.

Spring Creek Singers sang both days during dance demonstrations in front of the Eastern Idaho State Fairgrounds and prior to the Ranch Rodeo start.

A horse parade was June 27 prior to the Ranch Rodeo. James Tone, Jesse Tone, Gator Boyd, Casey Ball, Krissy Broncho and Ariana Seymour all participated.

Fort Hall Junior Rodeo Queen Arayah Skunkcap carried the rodeo sponsor flags in during the grand entry, along with the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes flag.
