Michaud Creek Fire burns 1,560 acres on Fort Hall Rez


Michaud Creek Fire burns on Fort Hall Indian Reservation.

FORT HALL — The Michaud Creek Fire on the south end of the Fort Hall Indian Reservation burned 1,560 acres with containment on June 7.

There were no evacuations according to BLM Idaho Fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fort Hall Fire Department responded to a brush fire on June 5, 2026, in Michaud Creek at 11:50 a.m. where crews quickly contained the 65-acre fire at 1:43 p.m.

No structures were damaged. Responding agencies included the North Bannock Fire Department, Power County Fire Department, BIA, and BLM.

The fire reignited June 6, about 11 a.m. when fire officials reported it was more than 1,000 acres. It burned past the powerplant and was headed east. There ere no structures endangered.

Fort Hall Fire, North Bannock Fire and Pocatello Fire on scene. Air tankers also dropping fire retardant.
