AMERICAN FALLS — Community members gathered for the Miss J.R. Simplot Elementary Junior Princess Luella Farmer Hat and Boot Special during the evening session of the American Falls Schools Powwow on February 7.
The contest welcomed participants of all ages and dance styles, inviting them to showcase traditional attire paired with western hats and boots. The special highlighted both cultural tradition and individual expression.

Cash prizes sponsored by Luella Farmer’s family were awarded to top competitors. Skye Beasley earned first place honors, Tanner Countryman received second place, and Hovia Edwards took third place. In the consolation rounds, Humble Coby was recognized with First Consolation, and Kenai Corona received Second Consolation.

The Hat and Boot Special was one of the many activities held during the annual powwow. The evening session featured traditional songs, dancing, and opportunities for participants to comes together in celebration.
