Direct deposit required for 2008 per capita payouts
FORT HALL — For the calendar year 2008, all Shoshone-Bannock tribal per capita payments will be done electronically via Direct Deposit according to Fort Hall Business Council resolution FINC-07-1141 dated October 23, 2007. Tribal Finance staff say Direct Deposit is quicker, less expensive to process and safer than checks. Tribal member adults and minors will receive distribution in their own accounts by completing the Direct Deposit forms or having their bank or credit union complete the form. Two forms are available online – one for adults and one for minor child or incapacitated member form (FINC-08-0361) in accordance with the Tribal Gaming Distribution Plan. The minor or incapacitated member form includes the parent/guardian agreement for signature and notary. It is a one-time only form unless there is a change in that member’s parent or legal guardian status. Each minor child and or incapacitated member must have an account in his or her own name. Forms with a parents/guardian checking or savings account will not be accepted for a minor or incapacitated person. For those tribal members that do not have a depository (bank or credit union), a debit or gift card will be offered. The Finance office has sent out a Request for Proposal (RFP) to banks and credit unions for their bid. Once a proposal is accepted, a follow-up story will be submitted to the Sho-Ban News with the information and procedures.
Direct Deposit forms will be available on the Tribes web site: www.shoshonebannocktribes.com or shobannews.com.
In addition the Tribes internal web site. Forms may also be requested from the Tribal Finance office 208-478-3779 or Tribal Enrollment 208-478-3946. Forms must be returned by May 31 to either office.
